Blast Furnaces 'E' and 'F'

The Blast Furnaces ‘E’ and ‘F’ structures were each built using an N scale Walthers Cornerstone Blast Furnace kit. Details throughout are mainly Plastruct such as extra piping, extra reheat stove, and stairs/railings. Plastruct also provided the material for the additional taller stoves. Gold Medal Models provided parts for some catwalks/and/or Safety Caged Ladders. Some Evergreen stock was used in lieu of the kit provided metal roof siding for the cast house roofs. The skip hoist bracing is from left over parts of a Walthers HO bridge crane kit .The hoist houses are built from Walthers Ho Cinder Conveyor and Ash pit kits. The enclosure walls of the casthouses were built using Greenmax N scale engine shed kits whereas the cast house roof was scratch built.. Venting parts were built from a Walthers N scale Rolling Mill parts.
